Age of Empires 2: Forgotten Empires HD-Edition, die Erweiterung für Age of Empires 2 (HD), wird am 07. November 2013 auf Steam veröffentlicht. Was das Add-On kosten soll, ist noch unklar. Die Erweiterung wird vier Kampagnen (Alaric, Sforza, Bari und Dracula) und fünf Zivilisationen (Italiener, Inder, Slawen, Magyar (Ungarn) und Inkas) mit sich bringen. Neue Karten, Verbesserungen bei der Computerintelligenz, einen Zuschauer-Modus für Multiplayer-Parten und weitere Spielmodi für Skirmish oder Mehrspieler-Gefechte sind ebenfalls geplant.
